On the first night of my Vegas trip, I mustered up some energy to attend the Hudson Jeans Party at Encore. The DJ was fantastic, the energy was alive, and the people were well-dressed. And, I've got to say that the pool at Encore is nothing short of fabulous -- I mean, helloooo, look at the pool seating! The temperature was perfect for my casual-but-chic black romper (an old find that is definitely a closet favorite) and my comfortable Zara heels. I have to admit that it was really great being able to walk around in heels and shorts and not worry about being cold or having to walk up and down hills (yeah, I'm talking about you, SF!). All in all it was the start to a great night! For more of my Vegas adventures, stay tuned for my next post.

Maxi Dress: Random boutique; Sandals: Steve Madden; Bracelets: Forever 21; Necklace: H&M; Photos by: Crystal

Oh, hi there! Remember me? I know, I know.. where have I been? Well, last week, this girl was in Las Vegas for WWD Magic! It was my first time there, and what a trip it was! This is an outfit I wore one of the days while I was there. I knew it was going to be humid and hot, so I packed for comfort. One thing that always gets me through the heat (with style and comfort) is a good maxi dress. I picked up this dress right before I went on my trip, knowing that it would be a perfect one to pack. The bright colors, side slit, and open back were among the top reasons why I had to have it.

I'm really excited to post more on my trip and share all the photos I took. And before I go, I want to share the best news of all .... I have a computer again! Now I can get back to doing what I love most -- sharing snippets of my life with you all on my blog! Hope you are as excited as I am! Good things to come...

Ah, there's just something satisfying about a good burger, isn't there? A little while back, I made a trip to Magnolia Pub and Brewery in the Haight. After passing by the place more times that I can count, I knew that it was more than necessary that I give the place a shot. Magnolia has always been busy, so I had an inkling it would be good. I'm happy to report that it was quite delicious. I went with the Magnolia Pub burger, which was perfect in size and taste. The burger was juicy and definitely fulfilled my lunch cravings. Since Magnolia is a brewery, I made sure to try their specially brewed root beer. I'm not too much of a soda drinker, but this was something I'd gladly have seconds of! If you're in the area, I do recommend stopping in -- but do be warned, I've never seen the place without a wait (so plan accordingly)!

Top: Urban Outfitters; Shorts: Forever 21; Heels: Zara; Necklace: Boutique in SF

So, something happened to me in the time that I moved from LA back to SF -- I can no longer walk in heels. I have oodles and oodles of heels in my closet, but they've all taken a backseat to my flats, sandals, and boots. Thanks a lot, San Francisco. So, how do I retrain myself to walk in heels? Start small. These Zara heels are the perfect little teachers. They're comfortable, classic, and I still gain an inch or two when I walk. I must be the only girl on the planet who prefers to walk in kitten heels -- meh, luckily, that doesn't bother me at all.

Jeans: BDG via Urban Outfitters; Heels and Blouse: Forever 21

These jeans (or jeggings) have been with me since college, and I only wish I had them in more colors. I bought them at a steal for $10 (holla fo' a balla...on a budget) at Urban Outfitters and since I've rediscovered them in my closet, I just can't get enough. The blouse is a recent acquisition from Forever 21. I just loved the classic floral print and am definitely looking forward to wearing it with more things. The heels, which you've seen time and time again, are my classic black pair for Forever 21 -- best $24.80 I've ever spent.

During the spring semester of senior year of high school (way back when), we celebrated "Pie Fridays" every single Friday in my AP English class -- yes, we took senioritis to the next level. It was then, when I truly appreciate a good piece of pie. Fast forward many years later and I'm still quite fond of the pie family. One thing I have never really experienced, however, was a good pot pie -- that is, until now. One Tuesday evening after going out for a post-work cocktail, my friend suggested we fill up on pot pies from Chile Pies, located in the Castro. Not one to turn down a new place to eat, I agreed and that was start of my love affair with Chile Pies' savory pot pies. I tried the Red Chile Carne Asada savory pie and boy did it rock my tastebuds! Chile Pies' crusts are delicious and made with a perfectly warm and flaky pastry. My pie had a good amount of carne asada meat chunks, so it was easy to feel content after devouring the whole pie (despite the small size).  It helped too that my pie came with a small side salad (but I must warn you that if you order to go, you'll only get the pie). I've been back multiple times since our first encounter, but have yet to try a sweet pie! Next time, I'm going for the sweet stuff -- I'll be sure to report my findings. (P.S. - Who noticed their clever street number?)
